For those that worried the graduation of Tim Tebow would lead to declining ratings for The ‘SEC on CBS’, think again. Not only is the ‘SEC on CBS’ gaining it’s highest ratings over the last 11 years, it is also the highest rated football package across all networks.
Through 4 weeks, the network is averaging a 4.2 rating, up 11% from last years 3.8 rating. South Carolina’s upset of previously #1 ranked Alabama last weekend, earned a preliminary national rating of 4.9.
But it’s the NFL that is still king of the TV world, bringing in almost 3 times the ratings of College Football’s marquee match ups. NBC’s ‘Football Night In America’ scored an 11.7 rating, marking it’s 5th straight week being the #1 program in adults 18-49.
ESPN’s ’Monday Night Football’ started off the new week on a high note, riding Brett Favre & Randy Moss vs. the New York Jets to a 12.2 rating. If NBC wants to maintain its hold on the top spot for a 6th week, their Sunday Night Matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Washington Redskins will have to at least surpass MNF’s 12.2.
